Dreamworld Suite, an original composition by Vladislav Kern, was performed on organ as part of the Orgelconcert series in Amsterdam by Michael Jon Bennett, marking the first performance of the piece by another musician. The program also featured works by Franz Liszt, Max Reger, Charles-Valentin Alkan, Olivier Latry, and Jean Guillou, as well as original compositions and improvisations by Michael Jon.

Michael Jon Bennett is an organist, pianist, composer, improviser, and an award-winning musician, including recognition from the Davidson Institute for Talent Development and the ASCAP Foundation for his early compositional work.

Originally conceived for piano, the work was reassembled and realized on organ — an important step for both the piece and Vlad’s compositional approach of Fragmentalism. In this form, the music is built from fragments that can be arranged and connected differently by each performer, like a puzzle, creating a new version each time while remaining the same work.

This organ performance gave Dreamworld Suite a completely different sound and character, showing how the piece can take on new forms beyond the piano while preserving its identity.
